Buffalo River state park

The Buffalo River state park is one of Minnesota’s finest and largest remnant prairies. It is about 15 miles west from the metropolitan area of Fargo. This is a park for prairie lovers who can listen for bobolinks, prairie chickens, marbled godwits, and upland sandpipers. South of the park there is the Bluestem Prairie Scientific and Natural Area — one of the last native prairies in the state of Minnesota. It offers a unique glimpse of the past vast prairies, which once covered a whole lot more.
